Mediation of employment, business and partnership disputes, community and neighborhood mediations, landlord-tenant and family conflicts. Julia has been mediating since 1988, and is a nationally known mediation trainer.

Professional Experience
Julia is on the faculty at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, where she directs the Mediation Clinic. Besides the Mediation Clinic, she also teaches the 36-hour Mediation Skills CLE program offered by the School of Law, Negotiations, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Street Law. In 2003, Julia was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at Tribhuvan University Law Campus in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Selected Professional Civic Activities
Julia serves on the Board of the King County Dispute Resolution Center, and co-chairs the annual Northwest Dispute Resolution Conference. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Washington State Council on Public Legal Education. She is a regular presenter at local and national ADR conferences.

Admissions
Julia is admitted to the Washington State Bar, the South Carolina Bar, and the bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Education
Julia received her law degree in 1983 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was Notes Editor of the Law Review. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971.
