Practice Description
Andrew W. Maron, Managing Partner at Short Cressman & Burgess PLLC, focuses his practice on two principal areas: commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction law, and municipal law. Mr. Maron has experience in all types of civil litigation, large and small, state and federal, local and regional. He has handled cases in traditional courtroom litigation as well as in arbitration and mediation. He also periodically serves as a mediator or arbitrator. In his construction law practice, Mr. Maron has represented owners, contractors, design professionals and suppliers in all phases of the construction process: negotiation, contract preparation and dispute resolution. Educated as an engineer, Mr. Maron has the unique ability to understand the complex technical issues in today's construction industry. Mr. Maron is also the head of Short Cressman & Burgess' municipal law group. As such, he oversees the firm's legal services to local governments. Mr. Maron currently serves as general counsel for two large water districts and has provided specialized legal assistance to many other local municipalities. Mr. Maron has been selected as a "Superlawyer" by Washington Law & Politics magazine every year since 2001. In 2006, he was named one of "Washington's Most Amazing Attorneys" in the field of construction law by Washington CEO magazine.
